Nike Tiempo Legend III in Team Red/Metallic Platinum/Deep Burgundy

Nike Tiempo Legend Burgundy

Deemed to be the classy boot in Nike’s wide collection of soccer cleats, the Tiempo legend III offers a no-nonsense, high performing option at a decently competitive price. The Tiempo Legend range falls into the same category as the likes of the Adidas adiPure and Puma King Finale, with a more well rounded package and limited technology. The official colorway of this latest release comes in a pretty unusual Team Red/Metallic Platinum/Deep Burgundy colorway.

You have two options when it comes to the Tiempo Legend III range: go for the regular version or go for the Elite version. I had the opportunity to test the regular version a few months back and found they offered a very competitive level of performance, with the K-Leather upper offering a fantastic feel and high level of durability – once broken in that is! I did find them to fit a half size tight with what seems like a narrow to medium width.

The Elite version offers a completely different experience. Rather than a K-Leather upper, you are getting a synthetic Kangalite leather that offers a considerably lighter feel. Added to a carbon fiber soleplate, the Elite version weighs in at an impressive 8.2oz (compared to 10.2oz for the regular.)

For comparison, the above images show the Elite version, while the bottom image is of the regular version. The biggest difference aesthetically lies in the soleplate. If you are interested in the Elite version, they retail for around $280, while the regular version cost a far more economical $165.

  1. Where do you source your information regarding new boot releases?

  2. I don’t know about theses Bryan :/ …not the usual level of class I’ve come to expect from the tiempos

  3. These are the same color shade as the old Tiempo Ronaldinhos. Which were awesome looking in person. So I think these will look great.

Pictures just don't do them justice.

  4. Hi Bryan… the "like" button don't appears anymore… what happened?

  5. Awesome boot……..I just gotthem….wow super simple, super comfortable…all you need to play well 🙂

  6. I cannot wait for the Tiempo Legend IVs! I'm going to get them on NikeID on all black.

  7. The tongue on Tiempos always makes them look cheap to me, plus I’m not a fan of kanga-lite, just my 2 cents.

  8. tiempos should be balck or white

  9. It reminds me of an old pair of T90 Airs. I used to have a pair and I really liked the color in real life

  10. if i wear 8 for the regular tiempos, what size should i get for the elite verison?
and do the elite version stretch like the regular tiempos?

    • They both fit the same!

      • its me again..lol
        another question i have.
when i tried on the 8 for the regular tiempos..they were a bit snug but the guy at the store told me they will be okay coz they will stretch out. In that case, am I still okay to buying the 8 in the elite versions? I'm afraid it may not break in enough for my comfort.
        Thank You!

        • The Elite version is synthetic kangalite so it won't stretch much. The regular is real k-leather so it will mold to your foot better and give you a better touch. IMO, they put the wrong material on the elites. But anyways, if you want them to stretch for your foot, he is right to recommend the regulars and not the elites.

  11. I personally found the Tiempos to fit small, so I would order the 8.5 rather than the 8! The only difference between the regular and elite version is the soleplate, not the shape or upper.

  12. I have a quick question. I play defense and midfield slot and I need a durable, light, comfy, and somewhat flashy boot. I had these in mind… Nike Ctr 360 Maestri 2, Mercurial Vapor VI, Mercurial Miracle 2, Nike Tiempo (idk heard they get water locked)… Feel free to add… Place help me
