It really didn’t take the limited edition Nike Phantom Ultra Venom much time to make a mark this past week – they dropped in and were sold out within an hour! We hardly even knew them, and those that were lucky enough to secure a pair are now owners of something really special.
It is a mix of the past and the present as Nike take inspiration from the former Hypervenom series and mesh it with the modern Phantom GT. The end result is an incredible hybrid style boot that provides players with a glimpse at what might be to come on future generations. You can tell they are a descendant of the Hypervenom by the texture placed across the forefoot, it adds some extra definition to enhance control on the ball. Underfoot, they feature the same Hyper-Reactive soleplate that was used on the the Hypervenom 3 series.
For those that remember the Flyknit Ultra that we were introduced 5 years ago, it was the Mercurial that got the special edition treatment. So, it is interesting to see Nike taking another key silo and dressing it in absolute style. We were not surprised to hear that they sold out so quickly!
