Didier Drogba played in a charity match with Marseille Legends vs a select UNICEF team on Wednesday night, and rolled back the years by scoring a solid hat-trick. And of course Drogba celebrated his goals in iconic style with plenty of arm-pumping, knee-sliding, hand-waving, and crowd saluting.
What was even more impressive was his boot choice. He took to the pitch wearing what looked like a custom pair of Nike Vapor XI in Gold with an iconic R9 II tongue. Under the tongue, they featured an embroidered “DD11” text, giving them a signature look.
After the game, Drogba was spotted handing the boots to some fans in the stands. What an awesome gesture, and one I wish I was there for! Those boots are a definite collectors item.
