Quickly becoming a huge player on the market, Furon v6+ is the most advanced performing silo New Balance has released to date. They have also become a personal favorite, one of the first boots out of my bag on game day if I’m looking for something reliable. So, it was nice when the Alpha Flair version arrived in earlier this week, a fresh new colorway with a white wishbone base and hyper pink under tones. Crisp, clean and ready to standout!
Since their initial introduction, the Furon has morphed from a stiff and bland silo into an energetic, fluid performing boot that easily competes with other top speed boots. New Balance has invested time and research to continually evolve the range right through to this sixth generation. Where the Nike Mercurial and adidas F50 silos rely on more form fitting synthetic materials, the Furon V6+ uses a knit to provide a more responsive fit and feel. This gives them the added advantage of being more responsive on foot, a stark contrast from where the silo started!
The upper is a next generation FitWeave upper that provides lightweight stability in the places you need it – no distractions. Underfoot, you get an elite pro standard sole plate, harnessing premium nylon engineering to reflect modern high performance needs. And an enhanced, low-profile knitted collar locks you in to the boot, enabling you to release your natural game.
How is the Furon v6+ Performance Wise?
On a personal note, I absolutely rate these as the best Furon release to date and a top option for players in need of a speed boot. That opinion is coming from a limited amount of time with them, but already I can tell they offer the type of fit, feel and performance that you can really get behind. You feel light on your feet while wearing them, with the knit upper creating an enveloped feel right around your foot. Because the material offers so much stretch, they are far more accommodating to a wider variety of players.
Furon v6+ will be worn by New Balance Ambassadors Sadio Mane, Bukayo Saka, Eberechi Eze and Harvey Elliot as they prepare for the 21/22 season.
