Total comfort and control is what the Nike Tiempo Legend range has always been known for. Now fans of the more traditional style silo have a ninth generation to check out, what is the lightest Tiempo released to date. It is a redesigned plate and refined upper that combine to help reduce the boot’s weight down to just 7.3 oz.
First important thing to note, the boot is not actually officially released until July 15th. So, there is still a lot that we need to learn about what they have on offer. Soft foam pods in key touch areas as well as a raised dimple texture through the forefoot are two new dimensions that will impact player interaction on the ball.
Immediately fan attention has focused on how these have a very CTR360 style design, bringing back a wave of nostalgia for what was a fan favorite. And maybe that played on the minds of the Nike design team, as they looked to incorporate some key elements from the former control boot. In reality, it makes sense, as Nike look to take the Tiempo Legend in a much more modern direction, keeping a traditional leather upper for total comfort and implementing some control pods for improved touch on the ball.
Again, the official release date is July 15th on SOCCER.com.
