New Balance has introduced the FURON v6, a boot designed for players who want zero distraction and lethal precision. It becomes the lightest, fastest and most explosive boot to date from New Balance and will be worn by Sadio Mané.
What is new with this sixth generation edition? There is a lot, actually, with New Balance dramatically altering the design and focus of the boot. First, they feature an adaptive, lightweight FIT WEAVE stretch upper that has been engineered to provide life-long shape retention for ultimate feel, every single game. One other very noticeable difference is in the ankle, with the introduction of a sock like system. The Hyper-lock tuned lacing system and collar package allows for ultimate locked-down feel during play. New Balance also researched and targeted and implemented support zones for minimal weight and incredible responsiveness.
Does anyone else get Nike Vapor vibes off this one? They are obviously a very different boot and I’m not saying NB tried to copy the design. But, there is a sleek and very aerodynamic look about the Furon v6 and I like it a lot. This release is another example of NB’s desire to craft a space for themselves in the market, as they continue to evolve and modify to became a top option. I would argue at this stage that they are on the verge of cracking into the coveted big 3!
There is a lot more to learn about this latest generation of Furon, and we are eager to get them into testing. As soon as we do, we will follow up with more details on fit and performance.
