adidas Launch Nemeziz Messi 19.1 “Tech Indigo”

Fresh of winning his 6th Ballon d’Or award, Lionel Messi’s was officially presented with his latest adidas Nemeziz 19.1 colorway. Two things of note here. First, Messi wore these boots over the weekend, so we have already seen them worn on pitch. Second, this is not an exclusive release to celebrate Messi’s Ballon d’Or win, like releases we have seen in the past. This is, instead, a fresh new look that is added to the line-up of Nemeziz 19.1 options already on the market. it is a full-fledged, mainstay release that is available right across retail.

In terms of design, there is an unmistakable and very iconic look to this release, compliments of its metallic purple upper. The colorway is officially listed as Tech Indigo, but it is also very reminiscent to the original f50 adiZero and its Chameleon colorway. There is sure to be a group of readers out there who remember that release very well and are very excited to see a fresh take using the signature look. I am definitely one of those people!

Tech wise, there is nothing updated or modified compared to other Nemeziz 19.1 releases currently on the market. So, you are getting the very same boot just with an updated colorway. That isn’t a bad thing, as it is a boot that has received plenty of positive reviews since their introduction to the market.

If anything, I’m surprised that adidas didn’t store up a boot like the ‘Messi 15 Years’ Nemeziz for a time like this. Maybe they weren’t sure that Messi would actually take the award this season? It is just very unusual that they didn’t have a special edition ready to go as a celebration, and many will say another valid reason to showcase their top designs on the biggest stage. But lets be honest, this release really isn’t that bad and it adds a solid option for Nemeziz fans.
