Last week, we told you all about Lionel Messi breaking the Barcelona goalscoring record last week, as well as bringing you full details on an exclusive boot adidas released for him. The “Messi 370” adiZero F50 feature a different design on the left and right foot, inspired by Messi’s goal scoring stats, separating the percentage of goals he’s scored with his left foot, right foot and head.
On Wednesday night, he broke out pair #370 and continued on the goal scoring trail bagging another goal, taking his tally to 372. Its always nice to bag a goal in a new pair of boots! But even with their gloriously clean White upper, it was noticeable that the boots didn’t stand out as much as pairs we have seen Messi wear in the past. In fact, these could the most modest pair we have seen him wear in a while. There was a slight shimmer that came off the soleplate from field level, but it was less noticeable on camera and the appearance of the boot was subtle. It is unlikely we will see Messi wear these boots again if the past is any indication. Usually, he will wear special edition boots on a one-off basis.
Each of the limited edition “Messi 370” cleats comes in premium packaging (as you would expect for the price), including a 20 page commemorative booklet detailing the magnitude of this milestone, selecting five of Messi´s most famous and important goals, with an inspired graphical design.
If there are any US fans interested in a pair, sadly it seems they have already sold out! It was adidas.com that had several of the 370 pairs available with a price tag of $370, but they are no longer listed.
Can I see a video of him wearing it? What game did he wear it in?
