Boot Review – “Old School Vs. New School”

Samuel Eto'o Puma Boots

It was a busy weekend of football, as a lot of new signing were given their run-outs for the new clubs. I mentioned Samuel Eto’o last week having a knack for wearing old boots, and by old boots I actually mean old boots. He wore a pair of Puma King SL in training for Chelsea during the week, which I spotted him playing in during his time with Malaga in 2004. He then reverted to the current evoSPEED 1.2 Black colourway, for his debut against Everton.

Fellaini and Ozil

The big money signings for both Manchester United and Arsenal, Marouane Fellaini and Mesut Özil, wore Warrior Gambler and the new blue colourway of the Adidas LZII respectively. In the game at Old Trafford another Belgian seemed to take center stage, young Adnan Januzaj was wearing the Black/Orange colourway of the Hypervenom, leading to the understanding that all youth team players at Manchester United must wear black coloured boots.

Hull vs Cardiff Boot Spot

A spot from the Cardiff game was Puma wearer, Peter Whittingham has kept with the PowerCat silo, a lot of the Puma endorsed players in recent months have move to the King range. From the same game our “Quarter Back” player from a recent article, Tom Huddelstone, was in the new colurway of the Adidas Nitrocharge range, he was also wearing some black TruSox similar to his Spurs loanee Jake Livermore. Nicky Maynard took to field in a pair of Messi branded F50s, and Danny Graham in the new white colurway of the Warrior S-Lite , a great spotters game.

Nzonzi Boots

From the goalless Manchester City vs Stoke City game, Steven N’Zonzi wore some black-out Nike CTRs, he was an avid wearer of the CTRs in recent games but maybe he is on the look-out for a new contract.

Joey Barton Nitrocharge

Joey Barton this week took to his twitter account, followed by 2.3m people, to launch his rainbow laces for the anti-homophobic campaign. He wore the laces in the game versus Birmingham, a nice spot from that game was that David Hoilett wearing the black version of the Nike Vapors.
