When it comes to the women’s side of cleats, Nike has not released a specific Vapor edition. Instead, they choose the Mercurial Glide III range as the primary boot, and this initial release comes in a pretty dynamic Turquoise Blue/Bright Mango colorway. It is definitely a bright boot that is designed to be visually effective in game. And I am not one to judge, but I am sure these will end up on the feet of some male players somewhere around the US!
Featuring a Teijin synthetic leather, you are getting a shoe that is designed to allow more fluidity in a players game. Nike has altered the stud configuration on this release, but you do not the same design as seen on the Vapor. There are 4 blades instead of 2 on the heel, and there is not a mirrored effect on the forefront. The Glide comes in at a lightweight 6.8oz, which sounds similar to the Vapor but the Glide is weighed in a smaller size. All-in-all, it is a package that lives up to its $90 price tag.
For those interested, the Glide III is available for $84.99 right now.
There are differences between the fit of men’s and women’s boots, with the women’s offering a more narrow last through the midfoot – so I don’t advise guys to jump out and buy this colorway. Ultimately, the fact that Nike stick with the Glide over a Vapor 8 release is related to the economic value that goes along with top releases, and I am sure their are plenty of female players who wear and find the men’s Vapor to be quite comfortable.
But the question is, would you be interested in seeing this colorway released in a mens version?
the same colorway will be a new vapor 8 colorway.
I doubt it, womens colors are never done on the mens version
