Nike are continuing their 25th anniversary celebration of the Mercurial silo with another set of releases that honor the fabled speed silo. This extended pack includes both the Superfly XXV and Vapor XXV models, each adorned with the same design details as the SE version.
The Mercurial is the second longest standing silo in Nike’s lineup, second only to the Tiempo. To mark its 25th anniversary this year, Nike launched a limited edition Air Zoom Mercurial XXV on Monday, which sold out within the first hour worldwide – only 2,500 pairs were available. The Swoosh now extends the celebration with a more available pack that draws inspiration from the limited edition release.
Both the Vapor XV and Superfly IX boast the same silver hues as the limited edition version, as well as a special graphic of historical Mercurial logos spread across the upper in homage to the different eras since 1998. The Roman numeral “XXV” execution on the medial side also references the 25 years. While the collar and tongue area are black on both models, the Vapor and Superfly differ in their accent colors, with the former featuring volt and the latter pink, each adding a pop of color to the Swoosh branding and soleplate.
