Nike are celebrating the 25th anniversary of one of the fastest cleats in soccer history with the Disruption Mercurial Vapor 15 Elite XXV and Mercurial Superfly 9 Elite XXV. Here, we look at the limited, special edition Vapor that is a piece of soccer art commemorating “a disruptive lineage” that dates back to 1998 and the legendary Ronaldo. This cleat has defined a generation and will continue to inspire play into the future.
Blended with iconic colors synonymous with the Mercurial line, the stunning silver design amplifies the Zoom Air component, a three-quarter length articulated airbag designed exclusively for the needs of soccer players. The Mercurial Superfly’s Zoom airbag features flex grooves for flexibility and sits directly inside the soleplate, bringing the foot closer to the field for maximum snappy, propulsive energy return.
A redesigned Vaporposite+ upper combines grip-enhancing chevron mesh with a Flyknit lining for better ball control at high speeds. A data-driven “Speed Cage” support system provides lockdown. Underfoot, the Air Zoom Mercurial’s new Tri-Star stud design powers both lateral and downhill movement for faster play in all directions.
This is a limited edition drop, with only 2,500 pairs released worldwide. Each pair will also be individually numbered.
