Nike is ready to drop the long-awaited Nike Mercurial Air Zoom Ultra SE, a limited-edition release that highlights the brand’s ability to innovate.
It was back in February 2020 when we first saw a concept version of the silo, and since that time the Swoosh team has worked on fine-tuning the design. And in that time, they have created a boot with potentially game-changing technology.
What we know about the overall design is that its designed around a full length Zoom strobel unit, what has previously been used in KD 12 basketball shoes. The ultimate goal of the design is to enhance speed while creating an ultimate responsive feel. Inside the boots, a Zoom airbag is exposed across the footbed – just like in a host of classic Air Max models – offering a unique underfoot sensation. Nike’s goal is to enhance energy return, with the light and airy translucent upper combined with Flywire tech to lockdown the midfoot and offer a secure fit.
If you want a pair, you will be fighting with a lot of other fans who want to get their hands on 1 of 1000 pairs being released worldwide. Given the unique styling and technology, these are sure to sell out within minutes. March 21 is the official date when they will drop.
