One of the silos we have been calling for a remake of for the past few years is the heritage inspired adidas adiPure. And finally, it has arrived, just in time for Christmas. If you are like us, the level of nostalgia that comes with this release is off the charts!
Part of the limited edition Legends Pack, this adidas adiPure is inspired by the true masters of the pitch that wore the OG version in 2007. Throughout the beautiful game’s glittering history, the ability to turn games with a single touch has transformed greats into icons. And that is what the adiPure series has been all about, keeping things simple yet classy.
The upper on this version replicates the original, with strategically positioned, contour wave stitching on a supple leather upper. Underneath, a TorsionFrame outsole keeps you a class apart from your rivals. And what a perfect colorway to use on the first ever remake of the silo, traditional black with some luxurious gold detailing throughout. Classy!
Another unique feature is the low ankle cut, with a uniform shape sitting right around the ankle socket. Unlike other mainstream releases, there isn’t much material that sits up around the Achilles. Some like having a little extra material to “support” the area, but personally I enjoy a low cut so there is less material to create fiction against your leg.
The only real stumbling block is the high retail price. At $249.99 per pair, they are far more expensive than the original version. It is a case of having to pay up for the opportunity to relive some nostalgia. There is no doubt that these are a showstopper and having the opportunity to own a brand new pair does not come around often.
