PSG are set up this season with what could be one of the best attacking line-up of players we have ever seen in the game! On paper, the trio of Messi, Neymar and Mbappe is about as good as it gets, a collection of players that could easily each score 20 to 30 goals in La Liga this season.
What is even more unique about them is the fact each player wears a different boot brand! Nike, adidas and Puma will all be represented when we get to see them all play together on pitch. Honestly, we have never seen three plays that are so highly influential to their brands play together on the same team. This is a very unique situation.
So, which pair do you think gets the most attention this season?
Messi wears the adidas X Speedflow.1
Messi has moved away from his own signature Messi range and back into the signature adidas speed silo. He continues the trend of wearing the laced version in the range, which is currently the X Speedflow.1. Messi is no stranger to special edition, signature boot releases, and we are sure to see adidas introduce some more signature looks as he gets maker attention playing in the French capital.
In terms of tech specs, you still get a form fitting, lightweight PrimeKnit upper that provides an adaptive fit, designed for intuitive players that need to react quickly. There is also a new engineered Agility Frame that connects player to boot. It features a lattice structure that wraps around the foot, providing lockdown and stability in every direction while staying as light as possible. Underfoot, a Carbitex SpeedFrame outsole supports the foundation of fast play and movements of linear speed, with a carbon insert in the forefoot to enable explosive and instant transmission of power through the foot and on to the pitch.
Neymar wears the Puma FUTURE Z 1.2
With a high profile switch from Nike to Puma, Neymar immediately became the feature player wearing the FUTURE Z series. And they definitely have the appeal of a boot that is influenced by the Brazilian playmaker. He already debuted a pretty epic PUMA x Neymar x Fortnite Special Edition FUTURE Z that received plenty of attention.
The FUTURE Z has been engineered to enhance the playing style of the world’s most exciting and entertaining players. Built around an adaptive FUZIONFIT+ compression band, the boot provides optimal lock-in and support for explosive movements. The upper is made from an innovative new knitted material coated with a thin layer of GripControl Pro to provide superior touch and ball control. A cutting-edge new Dynamic Motion System outsole has been developed for advanced traction to drive the opposition crazy.
Mbappe wears the Nike Mercurial Superfly
Through his young career, we have seen Mbappe treated to signature boots in the Hypervenom Phantom, Mercurial Superfly and even the a GS remake in 2018. Each pair has come with a story and been showcased by the French striker on the biggest stages. Hos first pair was called “Born in Bondy“, he then got received a pair of Rosa that he really wanted, and the latest was the “Chosen 2” collab with the Jordan brand.
Performance wise, a 360-degree Flyknit construction wraps the foot for a second-skin fit, with a new high-tenacity yarn and a 1-piece lining creating a close, secure feel on the field. Added to that, a new ultra-thin NikeSkin overlay gets you closer to the ball for high-speed maneuvers. Underfoot, Nike has created a new Aerotrak zone along with a slightly stiffer chassis to help supercharge traction. As is the case with the entire Mercurial series, these are designed to fit tight. And they do! You need to be ready for a snug and secure fit, with the entire boot wrapping your foot like a cocoon. Your foot will be locked down inside, with an upper that is slightly more rigid than you’d expect from a yarn style material.
