With some glorious designs and a very affordable pricetag, the adidas GAMEMODE range has garnered some favorable attention since their release.
Sleek and colorful, GAMEMODE has reinvigorated fond memories of the speed focused F50 adizero silo. There is a definite air of nostalgia that surrounds them and I haven’t been surprised by the response from fans who want to know how these compare.
Well, let me start by telling you exactly what they are: the reincarnation of the F30 adiZero! For those not familiar with the adizero line-up, the F30 was the takedown or mid-tier model that retailed around the $120-$140 range during their life on the market. They were seen as a value for money option when a budget was in play.
When we compare GAMEMODE and F30 side-by-side, they have a lot in common. For example, you get a similar soft synthetic HybridTouch upper that really has a quality feel to it. There have been some minor tweaks to the ankle style and to have the soleplate, but performance wise they are very similar.
So, are they worth the money? Well, I have to say that I’m impressed by adidas’ desire to release them with a pricetag under $100. That is a bold move that gives these boots tremendous appeal, especially to those craving the adizero styling and something focused toward speed. And the designs are so unique; adidas has definitely decided that GAMEMODE is going to be a creative playground, where they can make and release small batch designs at a pricepoint that will be able to reach a lot of fans.
Next step is to get these out on-pitch for some testing. Stay tuned for a full review!
