What Puma Cleats Will Neymar Wear?
It is official, Neymar has made the switch and has officially joined the PUMA brand.
This is one of the wilder brand switches we have seen in recent times, with Neymar ending a long standing 15 year relationship with Nike. Where is gets even more interesting is in his new boot of choice – the KING Platinum. Yes, Neymar is set to wear the King, a silo that is seen to be much more traditional than extravagant.
“I grew up watching videos of great football legends such as Pelé, Cruyff, Eusebio and Maradona. These were the kings of the pitch, the kings of my sport. I wish to bring back the legacy that those athletes created on the pitch. They each played in PUMA, and each of them created their magic in The KING.”
Neymar continued: “Every time I lace my boots, my KING boots, I will do anything to achieve all of my dreams to honor my name and that of all those great ones who wore the KING before me. This will be my PUMA history. The KING is back!”
Is Neymar x Puma King a Good Match?
In reality, the combo of Neymar and the Puma King Platinum is actually a really good match up and I’m pretty excited to see whats to come. The King Platinum is an excellent boot that fits well, provides a clean touch on the ball with their k-leather upper, and just allows you to play distraction free. This is the type of release that is sleek and refined, ready for pacey wingers or center mids who need to be light on their feet as they ping balls around the field. They hold some Nike Tiempo Legend VII vibes, with similarities in how they are pieced together. And then they are crossed with a leather adidas adiZero release to give a really well balanced end product.

Neymar will not only wear the PUMA King on pitch, but will be a brand ambassador off-pitch, wearing PUMA’s most important lifestyle, training, and sport-inspired footwear and apparel products.
