Lionel Messi’s latest signature adidas Nemeziz 19.1 boots have officially been released. You might remember these from our sneak peek a few weeks ago, when adidas dropped them on some international sites, seemingly by accident.
Well, the wait is now over, with Messi already wearing the eye-catching Nemeziz in practice this week, as Barca prepare for their Champions League clash with Napoli. It will be the perfect stage for Messi to showcase the latest wild and imaginative design, with the right celebrating his hometown of Rosario, while the left has been reserved for Barcelona. Everything from the iconic Barca colors used across the upper, to the custom Messi hits including logo and jersey number, provide a very unique look that will appeal specifically to his most hardcore fans.
In terms of tech and performance, this version of the Nemeziz falls right in line with what we have seen from the latest iteration of the silo. So, you are getting the very same boot just with an updated colorway. They are designed for speed, feature Tensiontape through the upper that wraps all around the foot and offers a barefoot-like touch on the ball. And, of course, you get laces just like Messi chooses to wear them.
It is slightly unusual that adidas has chosen to drop these without any fanfare or an actual press release. It seems that they are happy to just let Messi showcase them in practice and on pitch. One thing is for sure, I can see these being very popular with younger fans who will appreciate the imaginative detailing that has gone into the design.
