Talk about a boot dropping in under the radar! I guess the Under Armour Magnetico Control Pro has actually been available directly on their US website for the past few weeks, but they haven’t been released across the mainstream market. Plus there has been very limited PR surrounding their release. That could be directly connected to the current social situation and the fact UA didn’t want to spend a lot of marketing money with limited return.
So, what is with that incredibly funky upper design? First off, UA has gone with a full-length UA FormTrue technology upper that flexes under pressure for stability at high speeds. The material is actually a 1.1mm Wallaroo that gives the fit & feel of leather with the engineering of a synthetic material.
Then there is the indented 3D pattern that runs like a race track across the upper surface. It is actually a series of 3 lines that run in sync to create an enhanced type of ball control. Lets be honest, it is a very imaginative design that will turn a LOT of heads. Something I am sure Under Armour are looking to leverage.
There is so much more we need to learn about these boots, and that will come in person. We know that UA has continually nailed down comfort, so it all comes down to performance with these. Will that wild upper provide something we haven’t seen before, and will it translate positively on field?

Kids versions of these were available in Nov and Dec at places like Ross and Marshall’s. It is very strange that UA is not talking about this release.
