It has been the talk of the town the past few weeks, and now finally adidas has dropped them just in time for Christmas. What could be more seasonal than a beautiful Red Predator Mania remake, the same boot worn by David Beckham, Zidane and Raul with the performance you’d expect from a 2019 release.
The Predator Mania was and still is a boot designed to break the rules, change the game, bend what was thought possible. With one of the most aggressive strike zones in the game, the Mania represents pinpoint accuracy and the ability to bend the ball.
On this 2019 limited edition remake, adidas use a kangaroo leather upper, central lacing system, iconic fold over tongue covering the laces, and that all impressive strike zone with the most aggressive Predator elements ever put on a boot. We are talking about a special type of grip for bending and whipping long balls, free kicks, and just regular passes. Underfoot, a ControlFrame outsole from the Predator 19 model blends the Predator Mania into a modern destroyer. It reduces weight (7.8oz) and aids in comfort and traction.
The downside; with a limited collection release comes a pretty astronomical price point. If you want a pair, you will need to shell out a hefty $350. For collectors, that might be a drop in the wind, but for your everyday player or Mania fan that just wants to relive a classic, it is pretty much out of reach. It is a shame since we all know there is a huge number of players that would enjoy wearing them.
