It is the first release in what will be a series of boots designed for the fastest football players on earth; the Nike Mercurial “Dream Speed.” The Swoosh are doing things a little differently with the latest CR7 signature boot, introducing it as a more mainstream release that will also be worn by players such as Sam Kerr and Kylian Mbappé. Each boot in the series will feature a unique design that is an interpretation of speed, unveiled one at a time during the next several seasons.
But of course, Cristiano Ronaldo is being his usual self and showcasing this latest release in style. He has been Man Of The Match in his last 5 games for club & country, putting the Dream Speed directly in the spotlight. So, we wanted to run through the different levels of boots available in the incredibly bold blue colorway for those that want to release their inner Ronaldo.

Nike Mercurial Superfly 7 Elite
Retail: $294.99
The version of the boot you will see Cristiano Ronaldo wearing. With new high-tenacity Flyknit yarn in play across the upper, this is a Mercurial that is softer and more form-fitting. Underfoot, Nike use an improved, more responsive soleplate for a higher energy return with each step. The upper is also finished with All Conditions Control (ACC) technology, making them an ideal option for fall to winter weather changes! They debut on pitch exclusively by Sam Kerr, Kylian Mbappé and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Nike Mercurial Vapor 13 Elite
Retail: $269.99
Performance wise, the Vapor performs very similarly to the Superfly, only without the dynamic fit collar in play. You still get a new high-tenacity Flyknit yarn across the upper, with a softer and more form-fitting fit. And underfoot, Nike use an improved, more responsive soleplate for a higher energy return with each step. Personally, I prefer the Vapor over the Superfly.
Nike Mercurial Superfly 7 Elite IC
Retail: $185
The IC version is designed specifically for use on indoor and street surfaces, basically an everyday shoe that is ready for game play when you are. A streamlined upper wraps your foot, while the rubber sole helps supercharge traction on indoor and court surfaces.
Nike Mercurial Superfly 7 Elite TF
Retail: $185
If you need something that is more balanced and comfortable on Turf surfaces, this is the best option. With a higher number of small nubs underfoot, weight is distributed more evenly allowing more improved stability in play. It also serves as a decent option on grass IF you are not relying on quick cuts and turns.
Nike Mercurial Superfly 7 Academy
Retail: $84.99
If you are on a budget but want to get in on the Dream Speed look, then the Academy versions will be your best bet. This Superfly version features a toned down dynamic fit collar that provides a very familiar look to its elite level compatriot.
