Heading into fall and darker nights, Nike has dropped the Hi-Vis Merlin that will be the official winter match ball used in the Premier League this season. This 2019-20 edition is inspired by the first-ever Nike Total 90 Aerow Hi-Vis version, which made its inaugural Premier League appearance during the 2004 season.
With the Hi-Vis football introduced to the Premier League 15 years ago, the latest iteration of the Premier League Hi-Vi Merlin footballs pays homage to the iconic heritage of the Total 90 Aerow football with a “T90” logo featured on one of the panels. It marks the first time in the competition’s history that the Hi-Vis football will have a different design to the regular season Merlin.
The Hi-Vis Merlin will debut on pitch at Premier League games on October 25 and will be available to buy at soccer.com later this week.
And it gets even better!!!! A limited number of Hi-Vis Total 90 balls will be reissued with the exact same detailing and specifications of the original! Oh yes, you get a chance to own one of the most iconic balls in memory. It features a 26-panel hand-stitched construction combined with texture flash casing. These replicas, which come in a commemorative box, will be available on nike.com on November 8 and will be numbered out of 600.
