With a new sponsorship deal set to kick on this August, Puma has dropped their official La Liga Match Ball for 2019/2020. Knowing that this is a huge opportunity to have their ball in the spotlight of one of the worlds most exciting leagues, Puma has not left anything to chance. This is their most tech advanced boot, and features a new story behind the design.
In terms of performance, the ball is composed of 18 heat sealed panels that create a “perfect sphere” shape. It is designed to provide better stability, a soft touch and reduced water absorption. One of the first updates is located in the 1mm Hi-Solid Dimple PU (San Fang) casing, which improves the aerodynamics while also providing high resistance to wear and tear. The structure of this advanced design is similar to that of a golf ball, assuring a straight path and better consistency when striking. Likewise, the incorporation of an additional POE foam layer improves touch and allows for a more explosive feel off your foot.
When it comes to the actual design, PUMA has gone with a daring combination of green colors that offer more visibility on pitch. Incorporating of a glimmer green shade with the NRGY red of the PUMA logo across the white casing makes for a more dynamic effect in flight.
For the first time, the sphere includes the LaLiga ‘beat’, one of the visual identity roots for the organization. It will be integrated in the football in the PUMA logo.
Honestly, this ball looks pretty exciting and I’m eager to get one into testing just to see what is on offer! Added to the video below – which I can’t get enough of – this is the beginning of what could be an extremely exciting year for PUMA!
The ball will be available later this week at soccer.com.
