Released as part of the latest Neymar Silêncio collection, the Vapor 12 Pro IC NJR allows players to follow in the Brazilian’s footstep off the pitch. Built for speed, these are designed to be worn on the courts and streets, or anytime you need to join in a pick-up game!
In terms of design, they are officially listed as a White/Red/Black, but realistically that upper looks like a wolf grey, with shades black adding to the detail. It is bold, yet incredibly clean on foot. The upper actually features a 3-D HyperScreen print that adds a texture on the synthetic upper, ensuring you have a controlled touch at high speeds. Underneath, a textile upper wraps your foot for a close fit, while a two-way stretch bootie hugs your foot for a seamless fit. Internal linings help to keep you locked in and secure all game long.
When it comes to actual fit, the first thing of note is that these feature a classic low-cut collar that locks in around your ankle. This makes for a tight squeeze as you get your feet into the shoes. There isn’t a whole lot of stretch in the material, so they are more challenging than a traditional shoe to get your foot into, not ideal for those with a wider fit. And that carries through the design, as they are more ideal for a narrow or medium fit foot. I wore them in a size 9 and they were snug, very snug. In reality, I would go up a half-size in future sizes!
Underfoot, Nike use a flat rubber outsole that provides traction on court and street surfaces, so there is plenty of grip for quick moves and quick acceleration. Added to that is a tri-star flex groove, proving a natural and comfortable flex to the outsole.
In terms of retail, they drop in at $119.99 and are available at soccer.com.
