Fresh off the release of their latest laceless Copa release, adidas has dropped a 2019 version of the highly regarded Copa Gloro.
Built as the mid-tier option to the Copa, the Copa Gloro 19.2 provides quality performance in a toned down package. Over the past few years, they have quickly become a fan favorite because of their simplicity, targeting players that enjoy a more modern approach to a classic boot at an affordable price-point. The design here is a lot more aggressive than previous Gloro models, with a visual appearance intended to mimic the elite level version. The only obvious difference is that iconic elasticated tongue. Such a staple adidas look that has found a perfect home on the Copa silo.
In terms of performance, you get an ultra supple Contacto-calf skin leather upper that provides deft touch on the ball while ensuring a durable wear. The actual colorway is listed as an off-white, with a sort of pearlized, egg shell hue to it.
An unexpected twist is the inclusion of a Knit in the midfoot and collar. It is intended to provide a locked in fit through play, something we haven’t seen used on the Gloro before. Underfoot, things are again kept simple. adidas use a flexible TPU soleplate with what is a pretty standard stud configuration. Low profile conical studs strategically positioned across the plate provide stability and even pressure distribution on both FG and AG surfaces.
