Embrace the revolution! adidas has taken everything you have ever known about the iconic COPA series and elevated it to an entirely new level with the introduction of COPA 19+. We are talking a traditional boot that has gone through a real life modern evolution, resulting in a silhouette that celebrates laceless-leather!
With its long-standing reputation among soccer purists, there is sure to be a lot of questions about what this version of COPA has on offer. First thing to note is that adidas has stuck with its classic leather treatment. That is a definite positive, keeping the core value of the silo alive. The upper is a super supple k-leather that features a seamless and less permeable skin. Cushioned ridges are used across the forefoot rather than stitching. This helps with waterproofing while still providing adequate natural movement.

As you move up along the boot upper, you will notice a transition from leather to a Sockfit collar. This collar has been engineered to naturally expand with your foot shape while ensuring supportive fit. When you look at the entire package, this is the piece of the puzzle that allows for the laceless style design. Primeknit is the material used through the mid-cut collar, with adidas labeling the combination as Fusionskin. The Purecut laceless upper remove unneeded layers to maximize ball control area. For a better fit, the internal construction, featuring foam pads and an ortholite sockliner, provides cushioning and comfort.
Performance wise, the COPA 19+ is also engineered to maximize movement and quick changes of direction. Underfoot, a Comfortframe is used to stabilize movement and enhance overall traction. The two footshape inlays allow optimal cushioning, while the stud positioning and shape have been designed to optimize rotation.
Featuring a striking champagne outsole with red adidas branding and a red/white sole plate the first edition of the COPA 19+ comes as part of the Initiator Pack. Juventus and Argentina striker, Paulo Dybala, is set to be the key player highlighting the boot. He stated that:
“I’ve always been a fan of the COPA because of the classic look and incredible first touch. It suits my style of play and my personal style too. The new boot has some great new features and a progressive design. I’m looking forward to seeing how far my game can improve with these boots.”
This is the last top tier adidas boot to make the jump to a laceless design. But, if you are still want to go the traditional route and are looking for laces, don’t worry. adidas still has a top tier laced version available for you; the COPA 19.1.

Hi there, are there any boots with a soleplate that flexes naturally with your foot, meaning you can bend it by just flexing your sole itself? perhaps, something like the Cinquestelle Colibri.
Most boots have super flexible soleplates these days. Anything that is light and designed for speed is usually best. If you were familiar with the Puma evoPOWER series, they had a plate that you could bend in both directions. You can still find pairs at really good prices, they are worth checking out!
