Since joining Atlanta United, Josef Martinez has been a goal scoring machine. In just two MLS seasons, the Venezuelan has scored 46 goals in 45 games, and that included two months on the sideline last season while injured. This weekend, he broke the record for most goals in a single MLS season, notching his 28th and with plenty of games still to go, he has a chance to surpass 30. Incredible!
When it comes to boots, what does the Goal King of MLS wear? Josef Martinez wears Nike Mercurial Superfly VI Elite. He has worn the Superfly ever since joining MLS, both the V and VI edition. It is a silo that seems to suit his style of play perfectly, providing him with the right balance of touch and speed. Prior to that, while at Torino in Italy, he wore adidas boots and most notably the adiZero f50. His switch to Nike happened shortly before he came to the US, giving him the opportunity to adjust to the Mercurial silo. Given his goal scoring record since, it seems like he made the right decision making the switch!
