They haven’t been on the market that long, but already the Nike Phantom Vision has gained a very large set of followers. And now fans have three signature looks to chose from that take the silo in completely different directions.
There is no doubt that these sits as one of the most complex Nike releases in recent times, built from the outside in, with the intent of providing a fit that will easily accommodate a wide variety of players. A Quadfit Mesh bootie acts like a heavy duty Chinese finger trap keeping your foot locked in during play. Another key feature of the release is “Ghost Laces”, which are tightened with one pull and stay hidden under the knit lace cover. All in all, a very tech heavy release. So, what options to players have right now?
It all started with a surprising Blackout colorway, something we haven’t seen Nike do with a new release before. They decided to mask the core fundamentals of the boot with stealth undertones, introducing their new technology in a way that allowed performance to out weigh looks.
Next up was the Raised On Concrete that provided a subtle, monotone version for fans to enjoy. Although not quite a clean slate, it offers a expressive visual for players that want to be brash while still focusing on their in game performance.
And now there is Rising Fire version that we will see debuted in Premier League games this weekend. Featuring a colorway that crossed between red hot and crimson boot, this is a colorway that sets a statement of intent. Perfect for the next generation player that wants to take things to a whole new level!
Performance wise, I didn’t fall in love with how the Phantom Vision performs (check our review) but I definitely enjoyed what they have on offer, and I see them being a top Nike boot option through the 2018/19 season.
