Portugal are in the World Cup knock-out rounds, providing Nike with the perfect opportunity to treat Cristiano Ronaldo to a fresh new boot. Rather than being a completely new silo, they have placed an updated paint job on the current Nike Mercurial Superfly VI. In the build up to Saturday’s clash with Uruguay, Ronaldo has been wearing the rare alternate colorway of his Chapter 6 boots, giving us an opportunity to see them up close.
I’ve got to admit, the CR7 Superfly Chapter 6 “Edição Especial” is one of the best signature Ronaldo colorways we have seen to date. The lighter shade of green provides a refreshing look that stands out in its own unique fashion, especially when you place it against the Portugal kit.
But, there is a unfortunate part to this release – for real fans of the colorway anyway. Nike is limiting the release to 154 pairs only, all of which will be available in Europe.
