I can’t remember an international kit getting as much attention as Nigeria’s World Cup home kit is currently getting! Nike went all out with an audacious visual design, giving the Super Eagles’ a youthful exuberance, pride and fresh perspective on patriotism. The home kit pays subtle homage to Nigeria’s ’94 shirt (worn by Nigeria’s first team to qualify) with its eagle wing-inspired black-and-white sleeve and green torso. Today, those elements are supercharged through an abstracted feather pattern and hyper colors that extend a power capable of turning heads on and off pitch.
To go along with the new kit that will officially be launched tomorrow is a complementary special edition boot design. Keeping with the unique nature of the kit, Nike has created a pair of Naija-inspired Mercurial Superfly 360 and Mercurial Vapors, both released in a similar green/white pattern. They are wild, imaginative and like the kits, sure to sell really well!
How will you be able to get your hands on a pair? Only through the NIKEiD platform, with Nike adding signature new looks exclusively via their portal.
