Nike has unveiled a completely new set of Heritage boots that have been re-imagined for the fastest players in the modern game. Five iconic styles that debuted on the world’s biggest stage have been placed on the current Nike Mercurial series, creating awesome looking boots. We have seen plenty of similar style releases on prior Mercurial boots, but this collection is definitely the best to date.
Each version (1998, 2002, 2006, 2010, 2014) is available in both a Superfly and Vapor silo. Each version has its own top quality finished look about it, combining some of the most famous boot colorways with current day performance.
In terms of availability – and this is pretty important – Nike has released this as a limited collection that is only available through NikeiD. They will not be available via retail, so if you want a pair you will need to act fast before sizes disappear.
MERCURIAL HERITAGE NIKEID 1998
Debuted on the feet of Brasilian star, Ronaldo, in 1998, the distinct blue and yellow colorway of the first Mercurial made a lasting impact in the football world. 20 years later, the iconic wave graphic returns on the Mercurial Heritage NIKEiD 1998.
MERCURIAL HERITAGE NIKEID 2002
With an aesthetic inspired by the world’s fastest production car of the time, the original 2002 Mercurial Vapor was a symbol of speed from the ground up. The Mercurial Heritage NIKEiD 2002 applies that colorway to the latest chassis built for speed.
MERCURIAL HERITAGE NIKEID 2006
The bold Cactus colorway of the original Mercurial Vapor III was first debuted on the feet of Cristiano Ronaldo. The unmistakable design returns in the Mercurial Heritage NIKEiD 2006.
MERCURIAL HERITAGE NIKEID 2010
Designed to literally catch the eye with a colorway tested to provide the best contrast on a green pitch, the unique combination of purple and orange was hard to miss. That experiment in peripheral vision gets reimagined in the Mercurial Heritage NIKEiD 2010.
MERCURIAL HERITAGE NIKEID 2014
Another boot first seen on the feet of Cristiano Ronaldo, the Mercurial Superfly IV introduced the first Dynamic Fit Collar on a Mercurial. Now, that iconic Hyper Punch and gold colorway gets applied to Nike Football’s newest boot.
