Whether you are looking for you’re next weekender shoe or are in need of a new indoor specific boot, the adidas Copa Tango 18.1 TR is a shoe that oozes street credibility. We are talking an iconic look, modern innovation, pure class in all the right area, immediate respect.
There have been several slick colorways released in the Copa Tango 18.1 series to date, and it is hard to argue against an iconic adidas Black/Red/White design being one of the best. A traditional style black Taurus leather upper across an integrated X-Ray vamp cage gives a true soccer look. You get some added cushion and textured control, with a heritage styling. Then a speckling of red is placed through the supportive compression sock-like construction that runs through the tongue, surrounds the ankle and heel to enhance the visual effect. At a distance, it mimics a cooled black lava top with dots of burning hot lava trying to break through. On foot, they just look right!
The tongue becomes the intriguing piece of this design. adidas advertise is as a fold-over style tongue, but unless you are going to hold it down under the lacing it is just going to flip up against your ankle. it is built into the upper with no separation on either side, ensuring a snug and compact fit. Thankfully, the design proves to effective in how it fits up against your foot, contouring so it doesn’t cause any comfort issues. Adding to the comfort and fit, adidas use foam heel pads inside the lining of the collar.
Underfoot…..that is where things become extra special. It is where you will find BOOST technology in use, the most responsive cushioning ever. The more energy you give, the more you get back from the sole. It is an incredibly useful and purposeful piece of technology that has revolutionized the running game in particular over the past few years. You really feel the effect as you move around in these, with extra spring under each step.
