In what was a case of unfortunate timing, adidas made an incredible move by recalling the entire Thunder Storm Pack earlier this month. It came as a response to the devestating Hurricane Harvey that hit Houston. The effects of the Hurricane (and other hurricanes that have hit regions like Florida and Puerto Rico since) have caused an incredible amount of hardship and grief to those communities.
For those that received the September Eurosport catalogue, you might have spotted that the collection appeared inside the front cover, which was printed weeks before the storm was on the radar. The decision to withdraw the Nemeziz 17+ 360Agility in Energy Blue, X17+ Purespeed in Goblin Green and ACE17+ Purecontrol in Legend Ink is testament to adidas’ desire to show respect and not cause unnecessary negative emotions at this time.
So, what is the plan for this pack and where are all the boots now? Since they were recalled, we know adidas has all the stock in storage right now. But in terms of what is next, we don’t have an answer. It is likely we will see them reintroduced at a more suitable time in the future.
There are several other adidas packs currently available, find them at soccer.com.
I have to say the pulling of this product for the reason cited is ridiculous . The “political correctness “ is over the top. The hurricane and storms were tragic. To draw any correlation is just strange
