Back in October, we asked the question if Zlatan Ibrahimovic had switched allegiance from Nike to adidas. In the months since, we have had no clarification on the issue. He recently wore Nike boots against Man City in the EFL Cup, and Swansea in the PL, but the talisman striker seems to have adjusted to life in adidas boots.
His boot of choice right now is the Adidas X 16.1, the version of PURECHAOS that doesn’t feature a lace cover. The TechFit collar is still in play, and everything through the soleplate is identical. But the structure of the upper provides a slightly different type of performance, one that seemingly suits Zlatan more naturally. When it comes to the description that goes with the X 16.1, they seem like an absolute perfect fit for his style:
Made for the players who are uncontrollable, the players who are always willing to lay it all on the line, for the players who can turn a game in their favor.

Will Zlatan become an official adidas player at some stage in the near future? We’ve been told there is still time to wait, as there are binding contracts still remaining with Nike. But given his stature and charisma, adidas are sure to be clamoring to secure his signature to their ever growing line-up!
