For those of you who are New Balance fans, they have just unveiled a limited edition release in the form of NB Furon Apex. This is a boot that draws inspiration from a very unusual source; the Peregrine Falcon. Recorded travelling at speeds of over 200mph, it is regarded to be the fastest animal on the planet. With its key characteristics being speed and agility, New Balance has connected it to a Furon player’s approach of using their rapid pace to define the outcome of the game.
The Furon 2.0 features a textured Hybrid Mesh Upper, but things look ever so slightly different on the Apex. Instead the upper appears to be much smoother with less dimension across the forefoot, almost like a faux leather rather than mesh. A Sprint Strike inspired Collar is employed for explosive acceleration and outstanding comfort. Underfoot, Ultra-Directional Studs give unrivaled straight-line speed for those players that have to be first to the ball.
Álvaro Negredo and Jesús Navas will wear the brand new boots this weekend as Middlesbrough take on Everton and Manchester City play Chelsea.
General Manager of New Balance Football Richard Wright said:
Throughout the design and development process of Furon Apex we were able to take a step forward specifically in terms of creativity and produce a one of a kind colorway. The design team have done a fantastic job in creating a look that personifies the Furon and we cannot wait to see the players wearing the boots on the pitch.
