Puma tease their next generation power release in the form of the evoPOWER 1.3 Camo. Set to be the first boot we see launched in 2016, the major details of this boot are hidden under a striped design as Puma keep things under wrap. In order to move the evoPOWER forward, Puma has reinvented the strike zone and provided a fresh surface area for striking the ball. Until the first release colorway is introduced in January, we are left with only those blurred lines as a guide for what can be expected!
What we do know is the extremely successful AdapLite continues on the boot. The innovative one-way stretchable AdapLite upper material molds to the foot providing a barefoot like fit. On top of that, a GripTex coating has been applied for enhanced ball control. Puma has also offered some indication that an AccuFoam lining is included. Under foot, there seem to be some changes with an unusual stud configuration sitting underneath the heel. GSF is still in play, but has Puma moved towards a more streamlined acceleration style?
From initial images, it seems like there might be more of the first edition evoPOWER in play with this boot. That is our hope anyway! That particular boot offered the complete package and made a dramatic impact on the market from release. The second generation evoPOWER didn’t hit the same high notes and although successful, it wasn’t the type of boot that players craved to own.
