The Heather Flyknit Superfly Has Arrived

You might recall a few months back when we introduced you to Heather Flyknit; a revolutionary new design placed on an upcoming Women’s Mercurial boot. Well, finally the Nike Mercurial Superfly in Racer Blue/Bright Mango (with Heather Flyknit) has been released! These were touted for official release in early 2016, so it might seem slightly unusual to see them hit the market before new year and right after the holiday rush. In fact, I’m sure there will be a few of you disappointed that they were not available right before Christmas!

So what exactly is Heather Flyknit? Heather Flyknit is actually the same as regular Flyknit in construction, it is just colored before they use it in the creation process and thus it takes on a multi-tone visual effect. With the colors used on this version, it is an absolute winner and there is anticipation to see what else is to come from Nike in this pattern.

What is important to note here is that these are part of the Women’s pack and as such, won’t offer the same style fit as Men’s boots. The footbed is slightly narrower and the sizing convention is altered. Don’t be surprised if you see some guys wearing these boots on pitch over the coming weeks, but those players will need to evaluate size in order to get the right fit!
