We were on hand this morning in Portland for the release of a fresh new Nike Soccer Women’s Pack; the second standout pack released explicitly for female players. This pack joins the World Cup pack released earlier this year and is officially a 2016 collection.
The Hypervenom, Magista and Mercurial are the boots that initially get fresh new looks, with the Tiempo’s on hold until the sixth installment is released later this year. Out of the collection, there is one particular absolute standout – the Mercurial Superfly. On this one, Nike use a new Heather Flyknit material and they look absolutely awesome. Initially, they were the boot everyone was drawn to when we were first introduced to the new designs. Heather Flyknit is the same as regular Flyknit in construction, it is just colored before they use it in the creation process of the Superfly boot.
The new Mercurial, worn by Megan Rapinoe, Sydney Leroux, Tobin Heath and Women’s World Cup tournament hero Carli Lloyd, is built for speed and will debut on-pitch in Racer Blue/Bright Mango.
Forwards Alex Morgan and Christen Press will play in a new Energy/Racer Blue/Voltage Green Hypervenom II, a cleat designed for the world’s most agile attackers.
Ali Krieger and recently announced NWSL Golden Boot winner and MVP Crystal Dunn will wear a new Black/Bright Crimson Magista.
For anyone interested in a pair, you will have some time to wait! collection will be available in women’s sizes via the Nike Soccer App in early 2016 and will be at Nike stores, Nike.com and select retailers shortly afterwards.
If you want to check the current women’s selection, you will be able to find them on soccer.com.
Seriously, how many guys out there want a pair of the Heather Flyknit Superfly?
