Given that Puma don’t have a lead figure in their advertising ranks, it only makes sense that they should give key players individualized boots. We have seen a recent revolution in that arena, with Marco Reus, Mario Balotelli and Cesc Fabregas each getting their own custom pair – and now it is the turn of Sergio Aguero, in a pair of evoSPEED 1.3 Kun.
If it wasn’t for injury, Aguero could easily be the leader of all things evoSPEED. His ability to change games and score goals is top class, so this opportunity is well rewarded. As you would expect, there is a full story behind the design of these boots, and again Puma has worked with their athlete to create something with significance.
Aguero chose the colors red and white to honor his first club, Independiente, whose youth academy he joined at 9. He became the youngest player to debut in a first division game in Argentina at the age of 15. Agüero’s nickname, “Kun,” features on the cleats, as well as the image of a dog, an animal that he particularly adores. Last but not least, the names of his closest family members and friends appear above the PUMA Formstrip, followed by “Los Amo,” which means “I love you” in Spanish.
As you would expect, this boot comes with all the standard evoSPEED 1.3 trimmings. Maintaining the use of lightweight materials, it is extra light and flexible, which provides enhanced maneuverability and makes it the perfect choice for quick strikers and attacking midfielders. A premium monolayer microfiber upper is employed with a super thin microfiber finishing offering additional grip, control and touch on the ball.
