Not a boot you will ever see on a soccer pitch (if you do, stay well clear of the guys wearing them!) but these latest Nike Football cleat release – the Nike Vapor Untouchable – are well worth a shoutout for their incredible visual appearance. Quite often, we see design elements transcend between both sports, and on this occasion I think these could be a precursor to things we see on several soccer boots – more notably the mid-cut Superfly and Magista.
As you would expect, it is a case of go BIG or go home for Nike, in what is the biggest sporting event on the US calendar – SUPER BOWL XLIX. Their is an entire collection of apparel and footwear released, all set to mirror the electric atmosphere of the championship game, drawing inspiration from the shifting expression of the Arizona sky. But it is just the cleats that we want to focus on here.
The official rundown on the boots goes as follows:
Combining the mobility of a low-cut cleat with the support of a mid-cut version, the Nike Vapor Untouchable offers Nike athletes greater interaction with the ground. This allows for quicker acceleration and split-second cuts and turns. The Nike Flyknit upper works in concert with the NikeSkin overlay and Carbon V-Plate, and is the first instance of recycled polyester yarn to be employed in a Nike football cleat.
The Nike Vapor Untouchable “Super Bowl Edition” is available at Nike.com.
The cleats while having a similar look do very greatly to the Flyknit models we enjoy here in Soccer/Football. The upper on these does offer a nice tight fit, but due to the heavier nature of the athletes in comparison to soccer players, the upper and sole plate are very rigid in comparison. This is to be expected but if I were to compare this boot to any Flyknit model, I would compare it more to the Nike Hypervenom Phinish that will be released with the Flyknit dynamic fit collar.
i love nike need nike cleats soon have a game in 2 months
Has anyone played soccer in these? I'm thinking about buying them, hoping the soul plate will last longer than the Superflys and Magistas on AG/Turf, It says it has a nike skin upper so…. I was thinking how bad could they be, they're cheaper than the Superflys and Magistas as well.
I'm about done paying attention to these silos/sports labels from Nike. One of my favorite pairs of shoes to play futsal in are just some 10 year old lightly constructed pumas. and these things say they're for cross country but they kinda look like indoor Hypervenom I's http://www.eastbay.com/product/model:199581/sku:4…
Well I bought them, i'll let you know how it goes for 1/3 the price of the superfly, if they last a year, I'll be happy.
