How about these for a pair of technically advanced shinguards – the Puma evoPOWER 1 Guard can actually bend and flex in any direction. Last week, these arrived in and it was the first time I had heard about them. Featuring a SAS-Tec foam shell, the same material used by race car drivers and bikers to protect their body in crashes, the entire guard is pliable and ready for the toughest of challenges.
Basically, the material soaks in impact by becoming dense and hardening as it is hit. It sits comfortably across your shin and actually molds to the shape of your foot. In fact, they are the perfect type of guard to wear for all player types as they adjust and fit whether you have a rounded or square shin (I’ve never met someone with a square shin, but if that is you then……) The sleeve included is also pretty impressive as it features ACTV athletic tape on the inner lining to keep it in place on your shin and it activates muscle recovery. You slip the guards in to an insert and they are stuck in place, with no movement, right through play.
Again, I’ve never experienced a guard like this before and I have to admit I am highly impressed by the design and its functionality. In the past, I’d be the first to admit that a guard is a guard, and I’ve regularly stuck with a simple $20 pair – but these are way different. Having already worn them I can attest to the fact that they are comfortable, durable and well worth putting in consideration if you are in need of a new pair. They are priced around the $60 mark, so they are a little pricier but not as expensive as the top tier guards currently on offer. Check the video below, where there is more detail on what the guard has on offer.

I was wondering when someone would come out with a D3O type armor for shin guards. This material is fantastic. Thanks for the review.
