It had to happen at some point, and now is the time. Ryan Giggs has officially made the switch to Nike from Reebok, ending the brands illustrious run as a boot brand.
Since 2008, the brand has been wrapping up their position in the market and Ryan Giggs served as the solitary figure remaining on their books over the past few years. His decision to stick with Reebok boots was more to do with familiarity and personal preference than pushing the brand. In fact, rumor has it he wasn’t being paid any endorsements over the past few seasons. But now, we can officially say goodbye to Reebok.
The boot Giggs has turned to is the Nike Premier, an option that has become a firm favorite with coaches who’s clubs are sponsored by the swoosh. The heritage boot has received plenty of applause since their release, for both performance and their extreme value for money price. Check out our Nike Premier Review for more details on what they have to offer. Louis Van Gaal has also been wearing the Nike Premier through the initial training sessions with Manchester United.
