The Brazuca World Cup ball has been one of the most tested balls over the past few months. It has traveled the world in the Adidas Brazucam series and has been utilized in competitions such as the FIFA Club World Cup, Copa del Rey, MLS, DFB Pokal as well as numerous international friendlies. So the official design and colorway of the ball won’t be a surprise when the World Cup kicks off in Brazil. Adidas has mixed things up and revealed a fresh new look for the Brazuca, which will be used exclusively in the World Cup Final game.

The new colorway consists of a gold and green that reflects the colors on the World Cup trophy. It will be seen on July 13th when the two finalists face off for the biggest trophy on the international level. Personally, I love the simplicity of this release and can’t wait to see it on the big stage. The ball actually does reflect the gold and green of the trophy. The idea of a limited edition ball for the final was introduced in 2006 by Adidas.
The ball itself is a breakthrough innovation featuring a revolutionary six-panel design. Created for every player on the field, the ball features six identical panels alongside a unique surface that will provide improved grip, touch, stability and aerodynamics on the field. The colors and ribbon design of the original Brazuca colorway symbolize the traditional multicolored wish bracelets worn in the country in addition to reflecting the vibrancy and fun associated with soccer in Brazil.
