World Cup colorways are coming down the pipeline from all the boot providers in all shapes and forms. Our friends over at the Big Cat are no different, and they’ve released the Graphic Monaco Blue/Sulphur Springs/Bright Marigold colorway for the impressive evoSPEED 2.2 series.
As mid-tier releases have arguably benefited the most from the unprecedented levels of research and development from boot manufacturers over the last couple of years, this baby brother to the evoSPEED 1.2 is a top performing boot in its own right. Heck, if it was built 24 months ago, professionals would have been wearing it in top tier games.
Weighing in at 8.4oz, the evoSPEED 2.2 features a lightweight microfibre upper, which not only provides a great touch on the ball (a touch aided by the dimpled design on the upper), but also molds to the wearers foot to create a secure fit. The boot also features the minimalist heel counter which both locks the heel in place and provides protection from misplaced challenges. It does all this without sacrificing in the weight department and features my favorite inclusion; the conical and rounded bladed studs on the soleplate that makes these boots ideal for players who want to wear FG boots on AG surfaces, but don’t want to sacrifice performance.
The evoSPEED 2.2 is definitely a boot on the shortlist for best bang for your buck boot currently on the market. And you can pick up a pair of the new Graphic edition for an absolute steal at soccer.com where they are retailing for $89.99 as opposed to their list price of $142.99 – resulting in a savings of nearly 40%!
If you happen to be a little more subdued but still want to give the evoSPEED 2.2 a go, the original Black/Fluo Yellow version is available for a great price over at Soccer Savings, around the $70 mark.
