Nike has released what many are considering the best looking Hypervenom Phantom colorway to date, in the form of this White/Black with Neon Lime detailing design. It is an unusual release considering a full summer collection that included a vibrant Yellow Hypervenom was just revealed last week by the swoosh. We normally don’t see two separate colorway releases hit the market in such close proximity, but it does gives players a fresh new option to choose from.
Visually, the first thing you notice about the Hypervenom is the oddly textured upper. Basically, it is comprised of a mesh underlay, a layer of skin over it and the final product is treated with ACC technology. When you get a pair in hand, you will notice the honeycomb paneling has a dimpled-feel effect covering the entire surface of the boot. It is the first piece that sets these boots apart in a new category; “Agility”. The responsive nature of the upper material allows it to move more uniformly with your foots natural positioning.
And what has become most synonymous with fans of the Hypervenom since its release is the wide fitting upper. The forefoot is designed to covet players that need some extra space and have challenges finding the right size boots. Because it has a mesh like feel, the Nikeskin upper has the ability to expand across your foot and I noticed that it gradually stretches over time.

Personally, I found the friction created on the ball to be pretty pitch perfect for placing shots on target, especially the “pass” style shot. When you want to pick out a corner, it can compliment how you connect with the ball. In terms of shooting, the design plays a pretty important role. You get the benefit of a skin type feel across the inward panels, while the raised regions offer a little extra pop or rebound on shots.

My favorite pair of cleats has been the vapor vii. I didn't like the viii, do you think these are at all similar to the vii?
