Nike CTR360 Maestri III – Citrus/Black

CTR360 Citrus

What’s With This Colorway?

Is it just me or is there something eerily familiar about this colorway? I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that Nike released the range in a Sonic Yellow. I think my problem with this one is that if you already have a yellow shaded release, why do you need to release another one? It is an interesting move by Nike but there seems to plenty of positive feedback for the release, with fans applauding the slightly darker color.

While testing the Maestri III, they proved to be a very high performing boot, with the addition of 2-line cross stitching on the forefoot proving particularly effective. Here is a breakdown of what you can expect from the Playmaker boot.

Kanga-Lite Upper with All Conditions Control

The upper definitely feels slightly more rigid than it did on the CTR360 II, primarily due to the inclusion of ACC, something that I am very eager to test out in different conditions! If anything, it might actually benefit the boot as seems to add slightly more cushion.

Stitching Across the Upper

I’m heavily impressed with the 2 lines of stitching that sit across the upper. The intent here is obvious; create areas where the boot can naturally flex with the movement of your feet. It is perfectly situated and adds something simple but purposeful.

New Stud Geometry

Nike has changed things up in this area, and thankfully they have not taken a Vapor VIII approach! The studs are slightly more rounded, with no sharp edges. Nike state it adds “optimal 360-degree movement”, testing is where we will find out if they perform that well!

What the Readers Are Saying

We want to hear what you have to say about this colorway.

Is this release too similar in color to the initial Sonic Yellow colorway or is there enough of a difference to suit your taste?

  1. I think it is terrible. It reminds me of spoiled mayonnaise and it makes me want to throw up. I am a big fan of the release colorway also affects my verdict. Barf! Anyone have a bag?

  2. Hey Bryan, Im looking for a cleat that offers good arch and heel support (fallen arches) and was considering these and the Tiempo’s which would you reccomend?

    • Either both with an insert might be your best option! Neither have a great deal of arch support and are actually pretty flat. You might also want to check out something like the Puma evoSPEED or Adidas adiZero that has an ankle support to help keep your foot securely in place.
