Back in early June, we profiled the 2nd colorway in the Adidas 11Pro SL series, a Running White/Bright Gold release. This past week, we had a chance to pick up a pair of the high performing, heritage hybrid, 6.4oz super lightweight release and just had to profile the look.
Adidas has done a great job with this release, and the design offers players a modern yet minimalistic on-pitch look. I’m not always a fan of white uppers, but these is a certain appeal about these that makes the time spent cleaning worthwhile. In terms of positions, I see these as an ideal option for wingers or outside backs who want a speed boot with a leather upper.
Retail wise, they are currently available for $249.99 – make sure to check out the selection of images below to get a real feel for how they look.
For those of you that were disappointed about the adiPure 11Pro not featuring a K-leather upper, Adidas has a response. This SL version features a soft K-leather upper with an ultra-thin layer of protection, called DuraCoating, providing an extra level of durability around the strike zone. Not what many players were expecting! At 6.4oz, these fall more into the lightweight category than the heritage, with Adidas trimming them down to the bare bones.
Finally, as with all current release, Adidas employ their SprintFrame soleplate and the ability to use their miCoach performance tracking system. It is an addition that really raises the potential for moving your game to the next level.
Thoughts on this colorway? Does it hold a true heritage look in your opinion?
Still has that thin synthetic in the fore foot. I much prefer the adiPure IV SL that uses a full Kangaroo leather upper (no synthetics) and still weighs 7.0 oz which is extremely light for a full kangaroo leather boot. If you're lucky you can still find a brand new pair of adiPure IV SL on the bay and in the classic black colorway.
