Simple, classic yet devilishly bold – that is how I would describe this latest Nike Tiempo Legend IV release! Technically, they are listed as a very long winded Black/White/Challenge Red/Metallic Cool Grey, but the length of their title doesn’t compromise the simplicity of the design.
Amazingly, this is only the 3rd Nike Tiempo Legend colorway release we have seen in 2012, and it follows a common theme for the range – keep it simple and let performance do the talking! Players who like a more traditional approach will appreciate this look, with the layer of Challenge Red across the tongue adding an unsophisticated pop.
Retail wise, the Legend IV comes in at $159.99 and are available at soccer.com.
When it comes to the Tiempo Legend, I consider myself to be a bit of an expert! not only have I had the opportunity to test a pair, but I’ve also NikeID personalized my own Irish version! Performance wise, these just straight up work and they compliment any player looking for a boot that provides great touch and control. The leather upper is top quality and ranks amongst the best I have had the opportunity to test.
Nike has removed itself from the Elite version of the boot, so the Legend now stands as the top tier boots. Being honest, I have found that the regular version offers an enormously better value for money option and works just as effectively in game, so I’m glad to see these boots getting the recognition they deserve!
I have been following your website for the longest time, but now I need a bit of advice from an experienced soccer fanatic as yourself. I am looking into new boots and just need your expertise on which boot to pick. I have looked into the Nike Mercurial Vapor VII, Adidas Adipower, Adidas Adizero MiCoach, Nike Tiempo Legend IV, Nike Maestri (the II and III), Nike Total90 Laser VI (Kanga-Lite version), and Puma PowerCat 1.12 (Standard and SL). I am looking for a comfortable and durable shoe that will withstand more than a season of use. I am really leaning towards the Standard PowerCat 1.12, Nike Tiempo Legend IV, and Adidas Adipower. If you could please assist me in anyway possible, I would be extremely grateful Brian. Thanks
Tiempo without a doubt. Best shoe release in years. Believe me know and thank me later ( Hans & Franz).
I had a pair of tiempos that lasted me three seasons. Beautiful shoe.
At the same time I have had three pairs of tiempos. They are fantastic performance wise but each of them ripped in three months. This is with me cleaning them after every use and applying leather food every week.. For me they were un-durable. I would consider a pair of diadora maracana's if ur looking for similar performance but better durability. Just order a half size down.
F50 adizeros or Adipure sl or these tiempos are amazing shoes. Just ordered blackout f50s and these black tiempos and still have the adipure sls from last season. Each has great touch, mid to light weight, good classic color ways, and great performance durability. Should last an average 25 game season or two if your season is less. Credit-Personal experience and I play competitive youth soccer for my club and u15 national training squad. Sizing I'm usually a 10.5 sneaker so a 10 would work for each of these cleats for optimal touch and leather will stretch and mold. Adipowers are nice but my foot is usually normal width and they were too narrow for me and gave me ankle pains. As for the Powercat and t90s and maestris, I have not worn them but my teammates like all of them and especially recommend the maestri ii or iii. Good luck with some new boots my friend!
