The latest boot to be released in the new Puma evoSPEED 1 release comes in a very iconic and almost revolutionary colorway. Listed as a Flame Orange/Team Charcoal/Classic Green, there is something extremely distinct about this look that makes you want to take a second glance. In fact, this colorway could easily double as a matched choice for several international squads including Ireland, Ivory Coast, South Africa and even Holland!
It was only a few weeks ago that we were discussing the release of the evoSPEED and we actually posted the first official review of the boot last week. But it seems that Puma are looking to keep the boots profile in spotlight with this latest release.
I’ve selected the Leather version of the evoSPEED to feature on this release, which has a retail of $199.99 . There is also a Synthetic version that holds a similar look, but clocks in at a slightly cheaper $184.99.
There are several aspects of this boot that I like a lot. First is the basic simplicity of how it is constructed. You are getting what seems like a minimal leather upper with an uncomplicated soleplate – and that’s pretty much exactly what they are! There is no added technology, no carbon fiber in the soleplate and no funky stud configuration. It is simply designed to be a functioning boot that serves a no-nonsense purpose. One particular addition that makes these a high performer is the stud configuration, which I actually found to be an improvement over other Puma releases. You get a mix of conical up top and oval shaped studs on the back that offer great traction.
The one boot that these are very similar to is the Puma V1.11 SL, a boot that tops my list in terms of performance. Having tested these for several weeks, I can tell you that these top what the SL has to offer and it is that stud configuration, in particular, which makes these a better all around performer.
idk what it is about these but i like them!
