Umbro has released another sharp colorway in the GT2 Pro series that follows a consistent trend of truly eccentric looking boots. This latest version comes in a futuristic Silver/Black/True Red and will definitely appeal to players with a full-flavored taste. Adding to the unusual effect, the silver region of the upper features a scratched design that you can easily pick out in the side image below.
This release comes hot on the heels of the White/Vivid Blue release we saw earlier in the week. Having seen plenty of success with the initial GT Pro release, this upgraded version comes in at a lighter weight thanks in part to a Japanese micro-fiber upper. Picking up on a Nike strategy, Umbro has also trimmed the FG version even further by including hollowed out blades.
In fact, at 8.8oz this is the lightest boot Umbro has ever released! The subtle asymmetric, partially concealed lacing provides a larger strike zone. There has been plenty of hype behind this release, with plenty of initial reports comparing them to some of the best speed boots on the market – only time (and a review) will tell!
The GT2 Pro has a pretty tidy retail price of $150, leaving them at a much more affordable price point than other top tier speed boots on the market..
very interesting stud pattern…
since nike owns them its pretty much the upper from an older vapor put onto the Nike interact sole plate, seems like a good combo and price point, and I dig the recently released colorways, so I might just have to pick up a pair.
